Ages

It has been absolute AGES since I last updated this. I lost access to Oblivion...but I got a PS3 copy of it the other day. It's not the "full" game but it's something. It'll probably take me a few days to get through the Fighter's Guild to where I was, though.

Fighter's Guild: Amelion's Debt

Go to Burz gro-Khash in Cheydinhal. (Going to Azzan will redirect you to go to him)

He'll want you to retrieve an heirloom for someone named Biene Amelion, who lives in Water's Edge. It's near Leyawiin. Open up your map and fast-travel to the west edge of Leyawiin--Water's Edge is pretty much due north of the stables. You'll know you're going the right way if you pass White Stallion Lodge on the way there.

Biene's house is the one with a bush and two boulders on one side of the door and two boulders on the other side.

She'll mention that she needs your help repaying a debt of more than 1,000 septims. Seems her father ran up a huge debt gambling and now that he's gone (dragged out of the house in the middle of the night!) the debt is hers. She says she wants to sell the sword and armor of her grandfather.

Seems the sword and armor were enchanted, and buried in the family's ancestral tomb. Open up your map again. Like Water's Edge, the tomb is near the water. Only this tomb is on the EAST side of Leyawiin. It's pretty much directly SE of where you are now if you're not too picky about going through the water.

It goes without saying that you'll be seeing a lot of undead. Zombies, skeletons, and so forth.

Head straight and hang a right once in the tomb. Keep making right turns until your compass is pointed west again--you'll have pretty much made a large U-turn. Once you're in the next tunnel follow it and make your first left. Pull the rock rope to open a door on your left. Go in there, too.

Hug the left wall and mind the undead in the room in the process. Go through the wood door and make two lefts until you hit another door--the door to the Sarcophagus Chamber.

Make your third left and head on up. The armor and sword will be sitting out on a flat stone table. Grab 'em. Go to the end of the room and out that door. You'll see a hole which you need to fall through. Once you do, go right and you'll be back in the entrance tunnel. Go on out.

Head back to Burz. He'll give you your 300 gold, fame, and if you ask him after you turn in the quest, a promotion.

Fighter's Guild: Den of Thieves

Go to Anvil and talk to Azzan.

Seems he's got some thieves for you to take care of in Anvil. There's been thefts in the city and witnesses seem to think that they're holed up nearby. You're going to be doing this with Maglir. Remember him?

Walk out, talk to Maglir. Blah blah we're working together. Find a guard (other people may do as well) and get his disposition above 70. He'll tell you that Newheim the Portly was robbed and you should go talk to him.

He says that he was robbed of a family heirloom by a bunch of Bosmer, and that they're holed up in Hrota Cave. Pull up your map. Follow the path away from Anvil and keep an eye out on your right.

Make your second right once you get in the cave (The first right results in a rock trap, don't go there). Then hang another right to encounter your first Bosmer. Go to the top left of the room (from your point of view, not map view) and go into the room. Save first. There's only one in this room but others from the next room will probably come in--they did for me.

Make another right but be careful as there's a spike-ball trip-wire up ahead. Take the left at the end into the large room.

Newheim's family heirloom is a beer stein/mug and is on the table in the pit that's in the middle of the room. It's between the candles and the Ale. Grab it. Go to the top of the room and hang a left to get to the last thief. Go on back to Azzan for a reward of 200 gold and your fame. Also go back to Newheim and give him his mug. He'll thank you with 3 servings of Newheim's Special Brew.

Fighter's Guild: Drunk and Disorderly

Go to Modryn Oreyn again. He'll tell you that there are some Fighter's Guild members in Leyawiin who are causing trouble and that their names are Dubok go-Shagk, Rellian, and Vantus Prelius.

Head to the Five Claws Lodge. It's just north of the chapel in Leyawiin.

I talked to Dubok first. He complained that there was nothing to do because of the Blackwood Company. Huh? Who are they? Talk to him about them to discover that Blackwoods are a bunch of former soldiers sent to take back territory from 'lizards.'

Well, well.

Talk to Vantus now.

He'll say pretty much the same thing, except that Blackwood failed to do their job and then they came back, set up shop, and have been not only undercutting the Fighter's Guild but have been doing jobs that no Fighters Guild member would be caught dead doing! After some conversation ("You need work to keep busy") he'll say if you find them work they'll be just fine.

Talk to the Argonian (Witseidutsei) at the "front desk" and raise her trust of you to at least 70. She says to find Magarte, who's usually over at the Three Sisters. If she's not in the Inn she's probably out looking for Alchemy ingredients. So head on over!

She wants ogre teeth and minotaur horns--and she says if you give her five samples of ectoplasm she'll give her business to the Fighter's Guild!

I had some on hand and handed it over, at which she says she'll be giving the Fighters Guild all her business. That's great! Now head back over to the Five Claws. Tell Vantus about the work (he's quite happy about it) and then report back to Modryn Oreyn.

You'll get 200 gold, fame, and a promotion.

Fighter's Guild: Unfinished Business

Go to Burz again. He'll say to go to someone named Vilena Donton in Chorrol.

Fast-travel to Chorrol's north gate. Once there turn right and go up the wooden stairs next to the targets. When you find her (she's an older woman) she'll tell you to speak to Modryn Oreyn for your assignment.

He says to contact Maglir, who has defaulted on a contract in Skingrad--something the Fighters' Guild doesn't look well on. Your job is to go to Skingrad and find out what happened.

So, fast-travel to Skingrad's west gate. Make your first left and go into the West Weald Inn--it has a black and red flag on the side.

Maglir should be to your right and wearing armor. Talk to him to learn he was supposed to find Brenus Astis's journal, but he mentioned not being paid enough. It's in Fallen Rock Cave, and he mentions that he WILL NOT go back! He says it's not worth it and he has a family.

Leave through the West gate again and start heading northwest.

Once inside take the right tunnel and go on into the room, where you'll see some undead.

Go to the right and go into that tunnel. Then make another right into a foggy room. Keep going and make the first right you can. At the top of that room is a tunnel you need to take.

Cross the stone bridge in the large room and take the tunnel to the right...and there's a rockslide, which you can't get through. Go back to the bridge, jump down into the water, and turn left.

The journal will be on a little ledge next to a chest. Pick it up.

Now go on back to Maglir...technically you can go back to Modryn right now, though.

If you tell him you have to report his failure, he doesn't seem to mind--he says that there should have been more than one man on this job and mentions his family obligations.

But you really SHOULD say that he did the task.

When you go back and tell Modryn he finished it, he'll just mutter about this having taught Maglir a lesson. You'll still get your gold and fame.

Fighter's Guild: The Desolate Mine

Go back to Azzan. He said to me to go to Burz gro-Khash in Cheydinhal. So bring up your world map and fast-travel to Cheydinhal's east gate.

Keep to the right and cross the bridge. Once you do, turn left and it's the second building on your right.

He'll tell you they need a weapons shipment delivered to the Desolate Mine. Doesn't that sound encouraging?

Go out Cheydinhal's west gate and start heading northwest until you reach the mine. There'll be a couple of goblins out front...this doesn't look good. Kill them and then go on inside.

It should be noted that this IS a mine, so look out for veins.

Talk to the woman (exhaust all conversational topics) to learn that the goblins are making it too dangerous for the workers and that they were sent to get rid of the goblins. Give the hammer or sword to one of the men (they give hints as to what they prefer). Now turn around, walk up, and take the left tunnel.

When you reach the end of the left tunnel, turn left and go into the large room. Kill any goblins if you see them.

I'll call this the "Left Room."

From the Left room, look straight ahead at the two tunnel exits and take the right one. Kill all the goblins here and go to the top-right of the room and take that tunnel. You'll find more veins down this way and more goblins and once you've taken care of it all, go back to the Left Room.

At this point you should get a notification that the mine is clear. Well, we haven't fully explored it.

In the Left Room take the left tunnel....and it leads you in a giant circle! Go back to Burz now.

You'll get fame, 400 gold (it's what I got, may vary due to level) and a promotion.

Fighter's Guild: The Unfortunate Shopkeeper

Go back to Azzan. He will tell you about a Norbert Lelles, who is a shopkeeper who's having some trouble with break-ins.

Fast-travel to the Anvil Docks and turn left until you see a shop sign. That'll be Lelles' place.

Go on in. He'll tell you that it's always happening at night, no matter what he does about new locks, and tells you to just stay there that night. Wait until 11 pm, and the thieves will break in. You'll have to kill them, of course.

They'll have okay armor and I only found 5 gold each so they're not much worth looting. Now wait until morning and talk to Lelles again. You'll tell him the names (you don't need to memorize them or anything) and he'll say that they are all men who had worked for him. Then he'll give you your reward, some gold. (Level-dependent)

Now go back to Azzan to get your promotion and your +1 fame.
